Dump the Diets
Herein lies the problem, we know there’s plenty of food in the house and if that’s low, there’s a chip shop, pizza parlour or a supermarket just up the road. However, the body hasn’t quite grasped this concept of a plentiful food supply just yet; therefore, it’s always going to store any surplus calories just in case you become ill, move to Ethiopia or stuff yourself so much you can’t actually move off the sofa for a few weeks. We’ve been eating food for millions of years and only in the last few years have we started to have a weight problem as a species. Quite simply, there is no such thing as a fattening food, only a FATTENING DIET. EXCESS FAT is stored from EXCESS FOOD – it’s as simple as that. If you are one of those people trying to shed a few pounds, then you have to realise that it didn’t just appear overnight. It probably took years of practise of overeating chips, cream buns, curries, burgers, etc. For example, if every day you were to eat just 100 calories, (the equivalent of just four Ryvitas) more than your body burnt off, you would gain about an extra 10lbs of weight per year. Humanity has dieted since time began, but prior to the Atkins, South Beach or the Cabbage Soup Diet it was called War Rationing, the Great Depression, The Irish Potato Famine, the Black Death, Bubonic Plague, etc. Within days of any type of food shortage, the body recognises it’s burning off more energy than it’s consuming and then not just slows its metabolic rate in order to survive but it also sets itself up to regain the lost weight, and a bit more for good measure, faster than you lost it as soon as you start eating again - it’s a perfect evolutionary survival technique. This yo-yo effect of weight loss and subsequent gain is very difficult to overcome, especially as the body can easily develop extra fat cells to cope with rapid weight gains. If you’ve had weight problems for some time, your metabolism may be in such a state that it may take up to two years before it gets back to normal and no longer needs to rapidly regain any lost weight. Now this is very unfair, as you can’t live a miserable existence on a diet for the rest of your life, but you will have to eat and have some quality of life. At GET PHYSICAL we feel the best person to do your perfect eating plan is you! After all, you know your likes and dislikes. So we will work with you on a one-to-one basis and show you how the various food groups work, how they affect your metabolism and how to fit them all into your lifestyle in a healthy, balanced manner, and still lose unnecessary body fat. We don’t do diets, or offer quick fixes, nor do we count calories, or have green days, red days, low carbs, low fats or any other such nonsense. We just teach your head the stuff your body has known for the last few million years. Dump the Diets is due for release late Spring 2013 through Amazon Publishing Dump the Diets - rear coverWhat is going wrong with our overweight nation? Why, despite having a 'health food' industry worth over £2billion in the UK, are obesity levels rising faster than ever? Who's to blame? Should we blame the government? How about fast food outlets or fizzy drinks makers? Maybe it's the fault of our parents and teachers. Possibly though, it's your fault; you're to blame. After all, if you're trying to lose weight it makes you just one more out of the other 15 million people currently on permanent a diet in the U.K. Like millions of others, you may already be on your 2nd or 3rd 'diet' this year, throwing hundreds of pounds of your hard earned money into the £1.6 billion UK 'diet' industry. Actually, truth be told, it's not your fault after all; nor is it anybody else's for that matter. You can't play the 'finger-pointing' blame game, if no one's ever told you the rules? But what if someone explained all the rules; not the 'film-star celebrity' rules but the ones that apply to the 'real world'; to the everyday people that struggle to get in shape whilst dealing with the stress of daily living. Lifelong personal trainers/nutritionists, Paul Lonsdale and Ann Hirst are two ordinary people, but they possess an extraordinary, in-depth knowledge and 'real world' experience in the Health & Fitness industry and they are about to explain the 'weight loss' rules. Dump the Diets Ditch the Scales Drop the Inches will tell you everything you need to know, not only to get ahead of the game but to stay in front as well. It will teach your head the 'rules' that your body has always known.
